My maple kitchen cabinet near the sink area is water damaged and showing white streaks. How do I repair?

Buy a Maple furniture paint stick and paint them, or just get  
Apples
maple stain and wipe it on,leave on a minute and wipe off.

the question has been answered, but, I think you figured that  
trigger
out before you asked for help. your finish could be shellac or some other

substance. you need to try to match the stain color of the cabinets, then

use any kind of finish remover, re-stain and apply polyurethane.
